Limerick Animal Welafre is a non profit group based in Limerick, they rescue and rehome cats, dogs and rabbits amongst other animals. LAW has a rule that if at all possible no animal that can be saved will be put to sleep. The Limerick Animal Welfare organization rely totally on the genoristy of the public. Limerick Animal Welfare is a charity and we rely entirely on public donations to fund our work. Our running costs run to over 30,000 euro per month. Simply put, it takes constant fundraising to rescue the countless animals that need our help. Some of our past fundraisers have included raffles, coffee mornings, a fashion show, a sponsored parachute jump, sponsored cycle, an auction and a fundraising BBQ. We also have regular fundraising events throughout the year, including our Doggy Day, Christmas Swim, Open Day, sponsored Dog Walk, street collections, supermarket bag-packing dates and churchgate collections.
Your help is vital. We are always brainstorming to come up with new fundraising ideas. If you would like to help out at one of our fundraisers - or if you have a fundraising idea of your own - please do get in touch.
New Year's Day Swim - Kilkee
This year we're having our Christmas swim in Kilkee on New Year's Day - all the better to help you recover from the revelries of New Year's Eve! We meet on the beach in our swimming togs, fire off our dressing gowns and race down to the shore with our dogs and kids, duck into the first wave that appears and then race out again before we turn blue! A couple of die-hards swim a few strokes but really you just have to get a bit wet!
There'll be a mini bus will collect us from the beach after the swim and take us back to the Kilkee Bay Hotel for hot showers. There'll be rosettes for the swimmers and the chance to have a hot lunch before heading home. Christmas Cards Now On Sale
Our new Christmas Cards for 2009 are now on sale and cost just 6.00 euro per pack of ten. The cards feature just some of the animals we have rescued and rehomed this year and of course, our great fundraiser, Muffin! The cards will be on sale in our charity shop on Parnell Street and at our Field of Dreams Sanctuary in Kilfinane. If you would like to sell some of the cards at your workplace, please do get in touch. All the monies raised from the sale of these cards will go towards the running of our sanctuary
