CHRISTMAS can be the most difficult time for a family who have lost a loved one to suicide.
And Limerick-based charity Console is offering people affected by suicide a chance to heal at its annual Celebration of Light this Sunday at 4.15pm.
The event will feature performances by Noreen Ni Riain and Amen, along with Kathleen Turner of the Irish Chamber Orchestra.
"It is a very beautiful service of light that allows families to remember loved ones they have lost through suicide," said Console's Paul Kelly.
"We will have a minute's silence, remembering those who have been lost to suicide. We light candles in their memory. It is an emotional service, but one that also heals."
Console's Celebration of Light will take place in the Augustinian Church in the city.
The ceremony will last for about 80 minutes and refreshments will be served afterwards.
Console run two separate helplines, for the families of suicide bereavement, 1800-201890 and the 24-hour helpline, 1 Life, for those under suicidal stress at 1800-247100.
