Gardai investigating the death of a 92 year old man have still not ruled out foul play as the cause of his death, but neither are they invesigating murder or manslaughter. James Mulqueen was found dead in his home last Friday in Kilcolman, Co. Limerick.
An incident room was setup in Rathkeale garda station as a base for the investigation. Head of the investigation Supt Roe, has confirmed that they are treating the death of Mr Mulqueen as suspicious, after recieving the results of the post mortem which was carried out on the victims body.
Supt Roe refused to confirm whether or not there was marks found on the victims body, due to reasons relating to the ongoing investigation. However he did confirm that the investigators are making progress on the case. Gardai believed at first that Mr Mulqueen died of natural causes due to old age, however that changed following the results of the post mortem.
