Detective Garda David McGrath told Limerick District Court that Gardai forced entry to the house at Brú Na Gruadáin and broke down a locked downstairs bedroom door where they met Linda Casey.
Bags, scissors and traces of diamorphine or heroin were present in the house and she was arrested.
During her detention she produced 2 bags of the drug worth €1,453.
The court heard Linda Casey has 58 previous convictions including previous drugs convictions.
Her solicitor, John Devane said the 43 year old mother became a pawn forced to sell on drugs to keep a supply for her own chronic drug habit and she was now trying to clean up her act while in custody.
Judge Tom O'Donnell backdated a 10 month sentence to September 29th.
Linda Casey was also disqualified from driving for 4 years on separate road traffic offences.
