The recent Floods and continuous unemployment have added to the demand for services offered by the St Vincent De Paul charity in Limerick this Christmas. The charity will make up to 100,000 house calls throughout Ireland in the run up to Christmas. The SVP commence a week long fundraising initiative beginning today Monday 6th December 2009. It is asking the public and all businesses to support all fundraising activities.
Joe Dillon who is the regional president of the SVP said, "the loss of the social welfare Christmas bonus is a major concern for many families:"
