Gardai Appeal For Missing Limerick Man

By David Hurley
GARDAI are appealing for information on the whereabouts of Kilteely man Francis Green, who has been missing from his home in the city for the past fortnight.
Mr Green, 48, who is also known as Francie, was last seen on Saturday, November 28, between 7pm and 9pm near his basement flat on Hartstonge Street.

Gardai at Henry Street have launched a major investigation into the circumstances of Mr Green's disappearance and are appealing to the public for information about his whereabouts.

The Shannon-based coastguard helicopter has been assisting in the search operation and uniformed gardai have conducted house to house inquiries in the area where Mr Green was last seen.

Detectives at Henry Street are continuing to view CCTV footage from cameras in the city centre in a bid to trace his movements.

"We have a lot of footage to sift through, and, hopefully, that will shed some light, but we are concerned about his safety and his whereabouts," said a member of the investigation team.

Mr Green is originally from Kilteely near Newcastle West, but he had been living in the city for some time.

He is described as being 5'8" in height and of slight build. He has brown receding hair and a moustache, and when last seen he was wearing light jeans, a dark sports jacket and white runners.

Henry Street Garda Station can be contacted at 061-212400.
