SAVAGE BUDGET HITS POOR AND ILL

The savagery of the Budget against the most vulnerable
and deprived section of society will place the health of
many people in danger, a spokesman for Republican
Sinn Fein said today.

Joe Lynch from Beechgrove Avenue in Ballinacurra
Weston the RSF chairman in the Southside of Limerick
said that taken with the increased charges for medical
card prescriptions, the Budget is a severe blow against
the elderly and those on limited social welfare incomes.

We now have cases where people on medical cards
will be paying between five and ten euro for their
medicine, he said.

This sleight of hand charge is like a three card trick
conman bamboozling his audience to find the lady.
The end result is that people on low and limited
incomes are done out of extra money for medicines.

As a result their overall income is reduced and
this has a huge effect on their already straightened
standard of living.

The temptation will be there to forego medicines
because of the increased cost and this in turn will have
a detrimental effect on the health of already ill
people.

Instead of punishing those who caused this crisis,
the 26 County Administration have rewarded the
bankers and the high earners and placed an intolerable
burden on the shoulders of the people who can least
afford it. It is time for this Administration to be
booted out at the next general election.
